Rancho Camulos National Historic Landmark

Rancho Camulos is a National Historic Landmark location within an 1,800 acre working ranch. The historic adobe home offers one of the best remaining examples of a Spanish-Mexican rancho in its original rural environment. The museum grounds feature a large adobe home built in the early 1850s, a small chapel, a schoolhouse built in 1930, a large fountain original to the property and another adobe home used as a ranch office built in 1920. The museum recently built a replica of a Tataviam Native American village with the help of Tataviam descendants, who lived and worked on the property in the 1800s. The museum's scenic landscape includes rose gardens, bougainvillea, cactus and other native plants.
